City athlete Alifiya Vagh secured a Bronze Medal under the 72 kg category (Masters1) at the Nationals Powerlifting Masters Championship-2019 held at Gudiyattam, Tamil Nadu, recently.

Her lifts were Squat – 125 kgs, Bench Press – 55 kgs and Deadlift – 126.5 kgs,  adding up to a total score of 307.5 kgs.

She also secured a Gold Medal in the Karnataka Powerlifting State Championships Masters – 2019 held at Kundapur.

Alifiya is coached by Commonwealth Champion and Gold Medalist Sujay Janardhan. She trains at Vo2max Fitness under Chandan and her physiotherapist is Dr. Pinakin Ayare.
