Inauguration on June 2, MyGreen Expo, drawing, debate competitions planned
Mysuru: Builders Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre in association with Mysore Builders’ Charitable Trust (MBCT) is jointly organising “World Environment Month-2018” with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” in the month of June, said BAI Chairman K. Subramanya Rao.
He was addressing a press conference at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday and said, “Programmes have been chalked out for the entire month of June to promote eco-friendly products, renewable energy materials etc., with a view to save environment, educate school children, college students and create awareness about environment among citizens of Mysuru.”
On June 2, Innovative Organic Farmer Dr. L. Narayan Reddy will inaugurate the Environment Month celebrations at 6 pm in MBCT auditorium, Vishweshwaranagar. Renowned Environmentalist Kamal Sagar will deliver the key note address.
On June 6, Yoga Guru Dr. Raghavendra Pai will inaugurate a unique programme ‘A Day with Home-makers.’ This is to educate home-makers in promoting environmental products. Rekha Rohit and Dr. Hemalatha will speak about various subjects. Ventriloquist Suma Rajkumar will entertain the audience with her talking doll, he said.
A mega sapling plantation programme is organised in two layouts near Bogadi on June 7 and 14 and on June 10, a Green Trek is organised to Tadiyandamol in Kodagu. ‘Green Treasure Hunt’ is planned to discover green places in and around Mysuru on June 17, he said.
MyGreen Expo
A three-day ‘My Green Exhibition’ to promote and showcase environment-friendly products will be held on June 22, 23 and 24 at MBCT auditorium. Energy saving and organic products will be displayed. There will be seminars and a short film to educate the general public, he said.
Drawing competition
A drawing competition will be held for school children on June 24 at Vijaya Vittala School. A debate competition is organised for college students (PU and Degree) on June 29 at MBCT premises, said Subramanya Rao.
BAI Honorary Secretary K. Ajith Narayan and World Environment Month Chairman J.V.R. Naidhruva were present at the press conference.
