Balamandira girls get training in self-defence

To impart techniques of self-defence, Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central had organised a Karate workshop for inmates of Government Girls Balamandira on Lalitha Mahal Road here recently.

Karate Teacher M.S. Shyam provided training to 72 girls of Balamandira on self-defence techniques to ward off romeos on streets.

Club President Chandrika Sudhir, addressing the students, said that attack on girls was rampant of late and added that self-defence techniques would be a boon to girls especially when they are alone.  Immediate Past President Sowjanya Attawar, Narayana Aleyuru of Pathanjali Yoga Centre and others were present.
