‘Balangochi’ summer camp concludes on a colourful note

May 12, 2019

Mysuru: “Theatre can remove ego in people,” opined humorist Prof. M. Krishnegowda.

He was speaking at the valedictory of Balangochi, a summer camp for children organised by Adamya Rangashale at Vivekananda PU College in Jayalakshmipuram here last evening.

Quoting the example of actor late Shankar Nag, Krishnegowda said that all artistes in theatre are treated equal. He opined that children should be allowed to play and enjoy and added that before fear sets in, children should be allowed to learn various skills. He advised parents not to discriminate children and suggested that kids should be nurtured to develop helping behaviour.

Speaking on the occasion,  Janachetana Trust President Prasanna Gowda asked parents to identify talents in their children and nurture them instead of pressurising for academic excellence.

The participating children dressed in attractive costumes  rendered devotional and theatre songs. They also presented a tribal dance and staged three plays Marada Tayi, Jilebi Sanchara and Hakki Haadu.

Journalist C.K. Mahendra, Rangashale Founder Chandru Mandya and others were present.
