Bandipur safari bus driver killed in road accident

Mysore/Mysuru: Bandipur safari bus driver was killed when a speeding bike rammed into him near the Forest Department quarters at Melukamanahalli in Bandipur yesterday night.

The deceased has been identified as M.K. Anand (37), son of Mahadevappa and a resident of Kelsipura village in Gundlupet taluk. He was allotted the quarters just a month back.

Yesterday at about 8.25 pm, Anand came out of the quarters gate on his TVS Radeon bike (KA-10-ED 1629) to fetch drinking water from a nearby RO plant when he saw a bike speeding towards his side. Anand then stopped the bike to allow the speeding Bajaj Pulsar bike (KA-10-EA-9665) to pass. But the bike rammed into Anand killing him on the spot.

It is learnt that the Pulsar bike was ridden by 32-year-old Naveen with 40-year-old Kumar on pillion. Both the rider and the pillion have sustained injuries and have been admitted to Gundlupet Taluk Hospital. Gundlupet Police have registered a case.
