Mysuru: GayanaSabha, Mysuru, has organised Hindustani Classical music concert at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar on Oct. 6 at 6 pm.
Sameer Rao, one of the prominent disciples of PanditHariprasadChaurasia, will present bansuri recital, accompanied by AdarshShenoy on tabla.
Sameer Rao started his musical journey into Hindustani classical music and playing the bansuri under the training of Pt. VeerabhadriahHiremath at Mysuru. He was chosen as a disciple by the world renowned flute wizard Pt. HariprasadChaurasia.
Sameer was a resident student of VrindabanGurukul, Mumbai, that keeps alive to this day the ancient Guru-ShishyaParampara of the traditional Gurukul. Sameer was conferred with the ‘YuvaPratibha’ award by The Directorate of Kannada and Culture, Govt. of Karnataka, in 2004. Sameer has performed extensively at prestigious platforms in India and abroad and has received many awards.
