Barefoot Marathon held in Kodagu

The Coorg Barefoot Marathon organised by Coorg Wellness Foundation at Tata Coffee Sports Ground was held recently in Kodagu. Over 375 participants belonging to Kodagu and other places took part in the event. The marathon was organised to make people feel more for their motherland and with nature.

The winners were also rewarded with cash prizes.

Results

42 Km: 1. Naninaya Sowmaiya (Rs. 25,000), 2. Jeethan Bagamandala (Rs. 10,000). 21 Km: 1. Hosaklu Chinappa (Rs. 8,000), 2. Dhireen Machaiah (Rs. 5,000). 10 Km: 1. Chengappa (Rs. 3,000), 2. Lava (Rs. 2,000). Women Category: 42 Km: 1. Anitha (Rs. 8,000). 21 Km: Kaveri (Rs. 5,000).

10 Km: Unnathi Uthapp (Rs. 3,000). Senior Citizen: B.P. Ganapathy (Rs. 5,000).

Non-natives of Kodagu, were gifted with locally cultivated Coffee, Pepper & Rice. Later, the participants were entertained by showcasing Kodagu cultural dance by the students of Cauvery College and Suraj and team.
