The District Administration in association with Kannada and Culture Department and Basava Jayanthotsava Samiti has organised Basava Jayanti celebration on May 3 at 11 am at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road in city. District In-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate the programme. Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra will preside. In-charge Mayor Sunanda Palanetra, MPs Pratap Simha, V. Srinivasa Prasad and Sumalatha Ambarish will be the chief guests. Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations will be present, according to a press release.
