Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat will be organising Basava Jayanti celebrations, Kayaka Dinacharane and Kayaka Shri Awards ceremony on May 29 at 5 pm at Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Bhavan in JSS Hospital premises, said Parishat’s Mysuru City President M.G. Sadanandaiah here on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan, he said, Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion. Department of Kannada and Culture Director Dr. Dharanidevi Malagatti will inaugurate and deliver a lecture on ‘Basavanna mattu Kayaka.’  District Legal Services Authority Member-Secretary and Senior Civil Judge B.G. Dinesh will preside. On the occasion, Kayaka Shri awards will be given to M.B. Mahadevappa and Jayamma. Nada Hamsini Bhajan Troupe will present vachana recital at 4.30 pm. Parishat Secretary T.S. Kumaraswamy, Kadali Mahila Vedike President Sharada Shivalingaswamy and Secretary Vagdevi were present.
