Publicity vehicle launched

Mysuru:  As part of Basava Jayanti celebrations to be held on May 7 and 8 under the aegis of Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha, Veerashaiva Lingayat Associations and Basava Balaga Okkuta, a publicity vehicle was launched yesterday morning near the Basavanna statue at Gun House Circle here.

The vehicle will travel in city and rural parts of the district to create awareness among people on the proposed event.

The vehicle was launched by Sri Gurushanta Swamiji of Kuderu Mutt.

Sri Jadeswamiji of Devalapura Mutt, Celebration Committee Convenors Nagaraj, Prakash and others were present.

On May 7, a procession would be taken out from Gun House Circle at 9 am to Kalamandira where a stage programme would be held. The event will be inaugurated by Retired Chief Justice of Supreme Court Dr. M.N. Venkatachalaiah.
