Basavaraju (70), a retired employee of Silk Department and a resident of Hanumanthanagar, Bannimantap in city, passed away on Sunday following brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife Prema, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at Veerashaiva burial ground in Vidyaranyapuram this morning, according to family sources.
