Winners of 19th Protec Cup-2018 District-level Basketball Tourney

Helped by inspiring play by Nandan (24 points), All Stars BC scored a facile 57-53 win over Aryans BC and clinched the men’s title in the 19th Protec Cup 2018 District-level Basketball Tourney, conducted by Protec Association, at the University Basketball courts here recently.

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru, won the degree boys title beating MICA 74-71 in the final. MICA, Mysuru, won the PU College boys title beating Marimallappa PU College 39-18 in the final. Vijaya Vittalla PU College girls won the PU College girls title beating Marimallappa’s PU College 18-5 in the final.

The prizes to the winners were given away by K.S. Satish, President, Protec Association, Om Prakash, retd. basketball coach, SAI, C.K.Muralidharan, freelance sports journalist, Gururaj, athlete, SWR, Mysuru and Dinesh, Treasurer, MDBBA.

Brijesh Patel, President, Protec Challengers, Sethuram, Hon. Secretary, Protec Association, were the others present on the occasion.

Men: All Stars BC 57 (Nandan 24) bt Aryans BC 53 (Kshithij 13).

Degree College Boys: VVCE 74 (Sagar Suresh 31) bt MICA 71 (Kshithij 37).

PU College Boys: MICA 39 (Dhawan S. Bjoja 20) bt Marimallappa PU 18 (Abhirup 12).

HS Boys: St. Joseph’s HS, Yelwal 61 (Prateek 30) bt DAV HS 45 (B.G. Dhanush 18).

HPS Boys: Pushkarni HPS 25 (Lohith 21) bt Ideal Jawa Rotary HPS 20 (Karthik 9).

PU Girls: Vijaya Vittala PU College 18 (Sonal 8) bt Marimallappa’s PU College 5 (D. Harshitha 3).

HS Girls: Pushkarni HS 28 ( Prachi 11) bt DAV HS 7 (Kushi 2).
