Mysuru: Miscreants have made away with the batteries of a KSRTC bus parked near Ambedkar Bhavan when the bus driver had gone to the nearby Devaraja Traffic Police Station to solve an issue regarding an accident.

In his complaint, bus driver V. Basanth Kumar has stated that on Sept. 27 at about 3.15 pm, when he drove the bus into Sub-Urban Bus Stand after returning from Virajpet in Kodagu, the bus brushed against an autorickshaw following which the Traffic Police told him and the auto driver to bring the bus and the auto to Devaraja Traffic Police Station.

Basanth, who drove the bus to the Police Station, parked the bus near Ambedkar Bhavan, close to the Police Station and went inside to speak with the Police personnel.

After settling the issue, Basanth came out of the Police Station at about 5.30 pm, climbed on to the driver’s seat and switched on the ignition but none of the lights appeared on the dashboard of the bus.

Basanth then climbed down and opened the battery cabin only to find two LIV Guard batteries stolen and lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station.

Devaraja Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
