BCCI hands Group ‘A’ contract to Pujara

The cricket board doubles remuneration to players across all formats.

Cheteshwar Pujara moved up to Grade A in the BCCI annual players’ contracts list (period ending Sept. 30, 2017), as per the decision taken by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) yesterday. He will now be paid Rs. 2 crore.

The Administrators, who met yesterday, decided on the Annual Player Contracts for men cricketers for the period ending Sept. 30, 2017.

The annual retainer amounts were doubled for all the categories and Grade A players will be paid Rs. 2 crore per annum, Rs. 1 core for Grade B and Rs. 50 lakh for Grade C.

The match fee were also enhanced for men cricketers has been increased to Rs. 15 lakh per Test, Rs. 6 lakhs per ODI and Rs. 3 lakh for T20 International and the same will be will be effective from Oct 1st 2016 onwards.

Sandhya Rajesh Sawant, wife of late Rajesh Sawant, who passed away while he was on official assignment with the India U-19 team, was handed a cheque of Rs. 15 lakh in recognition of his services to Indian Cricket.

Grade A: Virat Kohli, M.S. Dhoni, R. Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Murali Vijay.

Grade B: Rohit Sharma, K.L. Rahul, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuvraj Singh.

Grade C: Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Amit Mishra, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Karun Nair, Hardik Pandya, Ashish Nehra, Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Parthiv Patel, Jayant Yadav, Mandeep Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shardul Thakur, Rishabh Pant.
