Beauty Wellness and Lifestyle Expo begins at J.K. Grounds

 A stylist is seen giving a ‘Hair demo’ at ‘Beauty Wellness and Lifestyle Expo’ at J.K. Grounds in city this morning.

Mysuru: The Mysore District Beautician and Beauty Parlour Owners’ Association has organised a three-day ‘Beauty Wellness and Lifestyle Expo’ at the J.K. Grounds in city from today till Oct. 29.

The exhibition, jointly inaugurated by the sponsor members of the event, will be open to visitors from 9 am to 9 pm where products from all branded companies including Ayurvedic products will be on sale along with the beauty gadgets, cosmetics, hair colour etc.

Today’s event kicked off with a ‘Hair demo’ by Shivakumar, South India Technical Head. The registered contestants will have auditions for several categories like Best Hair, Best Skin, etc. The Lenin Kingdom of Dance will give a demonstration of the popular Zumba Dance at 7.30 pm today.

The highlight of the three-day event is the contest for the Lady Elegant, Mr. Elegant and Miss Elegant which will be inaugurated by  Arpitha Raj, wife of Deputy Commissioner  D. Randeep and Dr. Blossom Kochhar, Chairperson, Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies tomorrow  at 5 pm at the same venue.

Sandalwood actor Sooraj Gowda and Zee Kannada Sarigamapa  singer M.R. Shree Harsha, will be the celebrity guests.

The Association is the first in India to introduce the Lady Elegant show for women above 35 years. The three mentioned contests will be based on elegance and intelligence and not on beauty alone. Events such as Mimicry and a Makeup demo by the Makeover Studio will also be held on the same day.

On Oct. 29, a fancy dress competition will be held for the students from 1st std to 7th std. Later in the afternoon, a dance competition will be held.

Mysore District Beautician and Beauty Parlour Owners’ Association presently has 280 members covering areas of Mandya, Kollegal, Kodagu, Hassan, Mangaluru and Chamarajanagar. It aims to bring all beauticians under one roof irrespective of the size of the parlour. They have been running this show since 15 years for charity.

Sujatha A. Singh, President of the Association, speaking to SOM this morning said, “This is the first time where we are conducting this event for a period of three days, and we want to unite and attract people during the course of the exhibition.”

Nutan Nanda, a Committee member of the Association,  added that they want to expand their zone and are planning to hold such exhibitions every year.
