Mysuru: : Need of becoming the global citizen is need of the hour but at the same time we should learn to keep Indian identity, said the scion of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar.
He was speaking at the Cross chapter meet organised by Young Indians of Mysuru Chapter at Mysore Sports Club on Friday and said “Majority of India is young; funny thing is we are often struck at this crossroad with a lot of older people who have been already there.
We are trying to push ahead and come and lead the way. I think the greatest problem of old India is the global citizen has not come into play.
The need of the hour is we should become the global citizen and at the same time, keep our identity.”
An identity of the global platform will help us a lot; it will help us to eradicate many of the issues. At the same time, right education will also help in overall improvement in the country. Apart from all this, we youngsters should also give prime importance in protecting our environment, he added.
During interaction the members posed various questions including history of Mysuru palace, about life of modern maharajas, how is he going to decide and give importance to programmes and about his interest in politics?
When one of the Young Indian members wanted to know when he is going to enter politics he said, “When I was 23 years I took up the responsibility and from then on its just three years. It’s tough to see me jumping into politics.
Public life is new to me and three years is not enough to be exposed to such a field. Though I want to be part of the change I have decided not to enter politics now.”
Young Indians Mysore Chapter Chair D. Ravishankar, Laeeq Ali from Bangalore Chapter, Sudhan Tirpur Chapter, Senthil Kumar Erode Chapter, Dipender Singh from Coimbatore chapter along with their members were present in the discussion.
