Beef-eating at Kalamandira is an attack on Kannada and culture: BJP leader

June 28, 2017

Mysuru: Strongly condemning the eating of beef at an event held at Kalamandira on Sunday, State BJP Slum Morcha General Secretary R. Raghu Kautilya has said that the act was an attack on Kannada and culture.

In a press release, Raghu Kautilya said that the consumption of beef by some persons at the event had deeply hurt the sentiments of one religion.

Terming the incident as an act of vicarious pleasure, he said that everyone in the civil society should condemn such an attack on our Kannada culture.

Alleging that our culture and rich traditions were under regular attack, he said that the beef consumption at the Kalamandira event was aimed at deriving vicarious pleasure and gaining cheap publicity.

Maintaining that the act was aimed at disturbing societal health, Raghu urged the District Administration to book the organisers of the event on charges of disturbing social and communal harmony.
