Bellary Raghavendra to sing at Ganabharathi

Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a Karnatak music vocal concert by Vid. Bellary M. Raghavendra on Jan.4 at its premises in Kuvempunagar at  6 pm. He will be accompanied on the violin by Vid. H. K. Narasimhamurthy, Vid. G. S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan on ghata.

Born in a music family of the acclaimed musicians Bellary Brothers, he is the son and disciple of Vid. Bellary M. Venkateshachar.  He is also the disciple of his uncle Bellary M. Sheshagiriaachar. Being an A grade artiste in Karnatak vocal music he has learnt Hindustani music under Vid. Chandrashekara Puranikamata and performed in National programme of music in AIR and Doordarshan.

Adept in giving lec-dems and an expert in light classical music and devotional music, he has directed popular programmes such as “Aswada” and “Swarasangama.”

Senior violinist Vid. H. K. Narasimhamurthy is a disciple of Vid. Parur M. S. Gopalakrishnan. Having accompanied most of the stalwarts in the field of Karnatak music, he is a guru par excellence.

Vid. G. S. Ramanujam is one of the senior-most disciples of Vid. P. G. Lakshminarayana. Being one of the forefront artiste in mridanga, he too has accompanied most of the stalwarts.

Vid. Raghunandan, a promising youngster, is a disciple of PGL and continuing his learning under Vid. H. S. Sudhindra.
