BEML employees oppose privatisation; stage candle light protest

Mysuru:  Employees of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) staged a candle light protest in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple here last evening opposing the government’s move to privatise the Public Sector Unit.

Speaking on the occasion,  BEML Employees Association, Mysore Unit President H.Y. Munireddy said that the employees have been fighting against the proposed privatisation throughout the country for the last six days. 

He contended that the company was making profit continuously for the last 50 years and added that the move to sell the company was improper. 

He warned that the 8,000 employees along with their family members would stage a massive protest if the government disregards the interests of the employees.

Association Secretary M.D. Rajashekar Murthy and others were present.
