May 9, 2017

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah’s son Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah, who is hogging headlines for acting on behalf his father in Varuna constituency, is in trouble again.

A complaint against him has been filed in Income Tax Department for allegedly holding benami properties worth crores of rupees.

Complainant Varthur Kanakadasa has filed case against Dr. Yathindra claiming that Chief Minister’s son was allegedly in possession of illegal properties including the Matrix Imaging Solutions. The complainant has requested for investigation and prosecution under the Benami Property Transaction Act, 1988.

“Dr. Yathindra, Equity Share Holder and former Director of M/s Matrix Imaging Solutions Private Limited, Bengaluru, is a doctor by profession and is presently having several diagnostic centres in Bengaluru and Mumbai, carrying out business in the name of Y.S. Prasiddh Diagnostics. He is also the major shareholder of M/s Matrix Imaging Solutions Private Limited. Dr. Yathindra and the said firm has made several benami transactions worth hundreds of crores in the names of his benamis — one Chirthahalli Mudalagiriyappa Rajesh Gowda and Malagonahally Uddappa Thejaswini — both of whom are presently Directors of the company,” the complainant alleged.

“Very frequently, there have been many trips to foreign nations by these three people for transferring of the money in offshore accounts and from there the money is again routed back to India in the form of setting up of Medical Tourism Business and all the ill-gotten wealth has become clean donations for development of the diagnostics centres in India, especially in Bengaluru and Mumbai,” the complainant alleged.

It may be recalled here that Opposition parties attacked the Chief Minister over conflict of interest with his son at the helm of Matrix.

One RTI activist Bhaskaran had even filed a complaint demanding a transparent inquiry into the scam with Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Following the allegations of nepotism, Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah quit from the director’s post.
