Bengali Association to celebrate Durga Pujo Utsav from tomorrow

September 27, 2025

Mysuru, the Cultural Capital of Karnataka, will witness a unique confluence of traditions this year as the Bengali Association Mysooru (BAM) is hosting its Annual Durga Pujo celebrations.

Durga Pujo, which is at the heart of Bengali culture, has grown far beyond its roots to become a global celebration of art, music, tradition and food.

In Mysuru, the city that takes pride in its majestic Palaces, vibrant Dasara and cultural grandeur, the festival will take on a distinctive flavour — where royal tradition meets                                             devotional fervour.

The pandal this year is a work of art in itself, echoing Mysuru’s architectural elegance while carrying the sacred spirit of Bengal. From the rhythmic beats of the dhak to the soulful strains of Rabindra Sangeet, every corner will resonate with joy, devotion and community spirit.

Visitors will be treated not only to the rituals of the ashtami anjali and dhunuchi naach but also to a series of cultural performances that showcases the harmony between Karnataka’s classical traditions and Bengal’s rich artistic heritage.

Durga Pujo Utsav

No Bengali festival is complete without its feast and BAM’s Pujo ensures the aroma of authentic delicacies will fill the air. From steaming khichuri bhog to Misti, the community kitchen will be as much a celebration of togetherness as of flavour.

The event will draw people from all walks of life — Bengalis and non-Bengalis alike — united in their love for culture, devotion and tradition.

As one of the city’s most anticipated events, BAM’s Durga Pujo has become a shining example of Mysuru’s cosmopolitan character, where diversity is celebrated with pride. This year’s Durga Pujo Utsav will be held from Sept. 28 (7.30 pm onwards) till Oct. 2 at Shivamma P.V. Mahadevappa Kalyana Mantapa, KRS Road, Gokulam.
