Bengaluru City University VC Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi invited to UK

Mysore/Mysuru: The University of Wolverhampton in the UK has extended an invitation to Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi, Vice-Chancellor of Bengaluru City University (BCU), as a distinguished visiting research scholar.

Prof. Gandhi has been invited to contribute his expertise and knowledge to the ongoing Research Project titled ‘Sustai-nable Smart Cities’ from Apr. 25 to Apr. 29. He previously visited Wolverhampton University in July 2023, where he shared insights on ‘The role of smart cities in managing the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in India,’ as part of the MoU between the two Universities.

Within the framework of the MoU, Prof. Gandhi has co-authored three research articles, published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, in collaboration with TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute), the Government of India and NHS, UK, both Universities organised an international workshop in hybrid mode on ‘digital-energy-health nexus: Ayushman Bharath digital mission.’

Prof. Lingaraja Gandhi has been invited under the visiting research scholar scheme, which facilitates collaborations between distinguished academic scholars on specific research projects. He will engage with Wolverhampton University to discuss the establishment of a Virtual Joint Research and Innovation Centre at BCU.

Prof. Gandhi hails from Mysuru and before he was appointed BCU VC, he had served as the Registrar of University of Mysore (UoM) and Karnataka State Open University (KSOU). He also served the Department of Post-Graduate Studies and Research in English at UoM and was the Director of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Board.
