Bengaluru youth drowns at Ganjam

Srirangapatna: A 30-year-old youth from Bengaluru, who had come on a trip to Srirangapatna along with his friends, has met watery grave at Cauvery Sangam near Ganjam.

The deceased youth is Manjunath. He, along with his friends, had come to Srirangapatna on Saturday. The group proceeded to Cauvery Sangama where Manjunath is said to have ventured into the waters for a swim and was swept away as the river was flowing in full force. Police and Fire and Emergency Services personnel launched a search operation and the body was finally traced and fished out at Melapura.

Srirangapatna Rural Police have registered a case.
