Beru-Chiguru Rangasambhrama in city from Jan.4 to 8

Mysuru: Apravarambe, Mysuru, has organised ‘Beru-Chiguru Rangasambhrama’ from Jan. 4 to 8 at Nrupathunga Kannada School, E and F Block, Ramakrishnanagar here.

Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Apravarambe Founder-Secretary Nagachandra said that about 50 school children would also join the troupe to enact the plays.

The event will be inaugurated on Jan.4 at 6 pm by writer Dr. Kabbinale Vasanth Bharadwaj. District Co-operative Union President H.V. Rajeev will preside. Writer Prof. K. Bhyravamurthy will be the chief guest.

A special commemorative volume will be released by Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax Dr. L. Sathish Kumar. Three theatre artistes — Kiragasur Rajappa, P. Gangadhara Swamy and Mime Ramesh — will be felicitated on the occasion.

The valedictory will be held on Jan.8 at 6 pm to be presided over by Social Activist P. Mallesh. Doordarshan Additional Director General Dr. Mahesh Joshi will deliver the valedictory address. Industrialist Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy will distribute  citations to participants of the event, said Nagachandra.

During the valedictory, theatre artistes Mohandas, K.J. Narayan Shetty, M. Dwarakanath, D. Krishnamurthy and K.N. Krishnaprasad will be felicitated.

The plays to be staged daily at 6 pm are as follows:

Jan.4: Yelli hodavu hakkigalu; Jan.5: Madidduno Maharaya; Jan.6: Shabari; Jan.7: Olleya Samaya; Jan.8: Hanchina Mane Parasappa.
