Mandya: D. Bhanuprakash Sharma, a Sanskrit Scholar of Srirangapatna has been appointed as a member of Mandya District Dharmika Parishat for a four-year term.

Bhanuprakash Sharma, who is also a religious scholar, is widely known throughout the State for his religious and social services.

The other members appointed to the Parishat include R. Gopalakrishna of Murukanahalli in K.R. Pet taluk, S. Guru of Arakere in Srirangapatna taluk, C.K. Pushpalatha of Devegowdanakoppalu, M.D. Javarappa of Mandya, Nagaraj of Santebachahalli in K.R. Pet taluk, V.H. Ravi of Valagerehalli in Maddur taluk and H.S. Ravindra of Hallegere in Mandya taluk.
