Mysuru: The Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of Pavanashree, disciple of Guru Vidu. Sreelakshmi Kumar, has been organised at Jaganmohan Palace tomorrow (Feb.5) at 5.30 pm, under the aegis of Sri Umamaheshwara Nruthya Kalakshethra Trust. She will be accompanied on natuvanga by Guru Vidu. Sreelakshmi Kumar, vocal – Vid. Balasubramanya Sharma, mridanga – Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy and flute Vid. A.P. Krishnaprasad.
Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre Director Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy will inaugurate the programme. Art critic Dr. Rama V. Bennur will be the chief guest. Noopura Kalavidaru Director Natyacharya Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao will preside.

Daughter of Parvathi and Shivaram Bhat, Pavanashree is a multifaceted artiste. Her tutorage since the age of seven under the able guidance of Natya Vidu. Sreelakshmi Kumar in learning Tanjore style of Bharatanatyam has been fruitful. She graduated her proficiency degree at the age of 19. She stood second for the entire KSEEB Mysuru centre in both Pre-Vidwat and Vidwat final exams.
She has performed on various occasion including in Karnataka Vaibhava, a sound and light presentation by Sangeeta Nataka Academy, Silver Jubilee Celebration of Archaeological Survey of India Service Association, Global Bhagavad Gita Conference in Nadamantapa, Mysuru Dasara Festival, Suttur Jathra Mahothsava and celebrations at Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama. She was also a part of ‘Taranga,’ a successful attempt by Noopura which was recorded in Limca Book of Records and Guinness Book of World Records.
Pavanashree is a singer, swimmer, a painter and a NCC Grade ‘A’ Cadet. Savithri Prabhakar taught her the basics of classical and light classical music. Presently, she is a senior student of Shalini Sethuram. G. Saraswathi has trained Pavanashree in painting. A former student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pavanashree is presently pursuing her CA exams from ICAI.
