Mysore/Mysuru: Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) National President Goutham Bafna, Karnataka State President Kishore Roonwal, State Secretary Sharmila Mehta, along with Anita Kothari and Sunil Lodha, Regional President Suresh Kanunga and Regional Secretary Ashish Bhansali visited Mysuru recently.
On the occasion, a special programme was organised under the leadership of Rajan Baghmar, President of BJS Mysuru Chapter, to felicitate the National, State and Regional office-bearers.
The programme began with a collective Mangalacharan. Rajan Baghmar introduced the dignitaries on the dais.
In his address, National Vice- President Goutham Bafna appreciated the Mysuru BJS team for its dedication and for carrying out several important social welfare activities.
He highlighted the special initiatives undertaken for the development and empowerment of girls in the community.
During an interaction session, several girls shared that the programmes conducted by BJS have brought significant positive changes in their lives.
He also mentioned that in recent years BJS Mysuru has undertaken projects in villages of Mysuru district by excavating dried ponds for rainwater harvesting, helping farmers with irrigation and ensuring water availability for wildlife.
Large-scale tree plantation drives have also been carried out for environmental protection.
Seminars for youths were organised to provide practical guidance related to employment and career opportunities.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, hardworking women were identified and honoured to encourage and boost their morale.
During the event, the National, State and Regional office-bearers invited the Mysuru BJS family to participate with their families in the Karnataka State Convention-2026 to be held in Bengaluru on Apr.5 (Sunday) by presenting the official invitation to Mysuru BJS President Rajan Baghmar and Women’s Wing President Sharmila Dhoka.
On this occasion, Vice-Presidents Amit Chouhan, Nemichand Barola and Kushal Palrecha, Secretaries Rajendra Desharla and Navratan Pitliya, Treasurer Manohar Sankala, past Presidents Vimal Pitliya, Praveen Lunkar and Prakash Srisrimaal, Women’s Wing Secretary Seema Bohra, along with a large number of members, were present.
