‘Bharatiya Naari-1951’ Play to be performed tomorrow

Mysuru:  As part of International Women’s Day celebrations, the city’s theatre group Pratibimba Ranga Tanda, will perform a play titled Bharatiya Naari-1951 at 6 pm tomorrow at Kalamandira in city.

Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan  here this morning, the Ranga Tanda’s Satish Ratan said the play highlights the background of the introduction of the Hindu Code Bill-1951 and the incidents that took place after the introduction of the Bill.

Pointing out that perhaps this may be the first such play focusing on the Bill, he said the play is of one-and-half-hour duration and entry is free.

Maharaja’s College faculty Dr. V. Shanmungham will inaugurate the play and Administrative Officer Dr. Ramaswamy will preside, Ratan added.
