Bike-born miscreants overtake lady scooterist, yank off chain

December 11, 2018

Mysuru: After a brief lull, chain-snatchers have struck again in the city this morning. Suma, 35, a resident of Vijayanagar 4th Stage, was dropping her specially-abled child to school on a scooter at about 10.45 am, when two motorcycle-borne miscreants, who came from behind, overtook her and stopped her near a drainage in RMP Layout, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, under the pretext of accusing her of causing an accident.

Even as Suma started explaining her innocence, the miscreants, who blocked her way, managed to yank off her gold chain and sped away on a black coloured motorcycle. However, the miscreants made away with only 15 gm of the 40 gm chain as Suma held on to her chain, it is learnt.

Vijayanagar Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and registered a case.
