Bengaluru: Bengaluru, which was stuttering under heat wave, experienced heavy rains last evening.

A bike rider lost his life in a rain-related incident. A student, Kiran, who was riding a bike, died when a tree fell on him following strong winds and heavy rain. He was severely injured and succumbed to the injuries, it is learnt.

Normal life was disrupted in several parts of Bengaluru because of heavy rain accompanied by thunder. People who had finished the day’s work and returning home on two-wheelers and other form of transport were completely drenched.

Because of water-logging in many areas like Pulakeshinagar, Kacharakanahalli, Lumbini Garden, Mekhri Circle, Ganganagar, R.T. Nagar, there was  knee-high water, which affected the traffic movements.

Chamarajanagar: There was heavy downpour in Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Hill limits in Yalandur taluk in the district.

The forest in the area had dried up due to lack of rain. Now due to rain, coffee and coconuts farms will once again bloom in greenery. The Girijan community is happy with the season’s first rain.

There was normal rain in Hanur and Kollegal last evening and no untoward incidents were reported.
