Bizman’s murder: Two youths arrested within 24 hours

Mysore/Mysuru: Yelwal Police have arrested two youths (natives of Rajasthan) on charges of murdering businessman Ravish, at a vacant building in Adishwar Nagar here on June 9. The arrests were made within 24 hours of the crime.

The arrested are Tejmal Raik and Prakash, while the murdered victim is Ravish, a native of Pandavapura taluk, who was residing at Adishwara Nagar near Basavanapura in the taluk.

Details: Tejmal and Ravish were partners for the mobile phone shop and DTH service centre at Hootagalli. Recently, there were some financial dispute between Tejmal and Ravish and Tejmal had asked Ravish to give back his share which had led to a fight between them.

Angered over this, Tejmal, along with Prakash, had allegedly hatched a plot to eliminate Ravish and on June 9, Tejmal, in the guise of giving a party for his birthday, brought Ravish to the vacant building at Adishwar Nagar, where Ravish, along with Tejmal and Prakash, consumed liquor. Later, in a drunken stupor, Tejmal and Prakash hit Ravish’s head and chin with a cricket bat and killed him.

Following the murder, Superintendent of Police (SP) R. Chethan had issued instructions and under the guidance of Additional SP (ASP) R. Shivakumar, a special Police team, comprising Mysuru Rural Dy.SP Dr. A.R. Sumeet, Inspector M. Mahesh, Sub-Inspector H.K. Nikitha, Head Constable K. Ravikumar  and Constable M.B. Dharma, was formed.

The Special Police Team, on June 11, arrested Tejmal and Prakash in city and subjected them to interrogation, during which the accused revealed the truth. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have seized the cricket bat and a two-wheeler (KA-09-JA-3794) used for the crime.

Assistant Sub-Inspector C. Jagadish and staff Girish, Rajegowda, Ningarajegowda, Dileep and drivers Arunesh and Mahadevaswamy, too took part in the nabbing operation.
