Mysuru:  Ahead of today’s MCC Council Meeting, BJP Corporators staged a demonstration in front of the MCC office on Sayyaji Rao Road here this morning, in protest against the Civic Body’s failure to install LED street-lights across the city.

Maintaining that the MCC had passed a resolution over 18 months ago on installation of LED street-lights in the entire city, the BJP Corporators questioned the apathetic attitude of the                                           authorities.

Alleging that the authorities are yet to come up with a road map on installation of LED lights even after one-and-a-half years, the protesters said that lack of street-lights were resulting in crimes such as chain-snatching, dacoity etc.., vehicle-lifting and road mishaps.

They urged the MCC authorities to wake up at least now and invite tenders at the earliest  for lighting the city streets with LED bulbs.
