Stepping up the party’s campaign ahead of Apr.9 Nanjangud by-poll, top BJP leaders of the State held road shows across the town yesterday.

The BJP took out an impressive rally from Chintamani Ganesha Temple on Ooty Road. The rally passed through Rashtrapathi Road, Bazar Road, Bus Stand Road and M.G. Road before culminating at a prominent circle in the town. Thousands of people marched in the rally with top party leaders seeking votes for the BJP candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad.

Union Ministers Ananth Kumar and D.V. Sadananda Gowda, State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa, Opposition Leader Jagadish Shettar, senior leader K.S. Eshwarappa, MPs Shobha Karandalje, Pratap Simha and B.Y. Raghavendra, former Ministers V. Somanna, Murugesh Nirani, S.A. Ramdas, C.T. Ravi, Suresh Kumar, C.M. Udasi, Anekal Narayanaswamy, Ramachandregowda and other leaders took part in the road shows.
