BJP MLC Vishwanath appears at Congress Office

June 4, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: BJP MLC A.H. Vishwanath, who is up in arms against the BJP for the past couple of years, took forward his tirade against the party, by addressing Congress workers at Minister K. Venkatesh felicitation programme organised at Congress Bhavan near City Railway Station hereon Saturday.

Vishwanath had resigned from the Congress six years ago and had joined the JD(S). He subsequently became the State JD(S) President and was elected from Hunsur Assembly segment in the 2018 Assembly polls. But in 2019, he lead a revolt and joined the BJP, following which the BJP nominated him as an MLC. However, Vishwanath began attacking the BJP after he was denied a Ministerial berth in the B.S. Yediyurappa and BasavarajBommai Cabinets.

Now on Saturday, Vishwanath turned up at the Congress Office and joined the others present on the occasion while taking a pledge to uphold the Indian Constitution. He was given a warm welcome by the party leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Vishwanath said that the Congress has contributed a lot for the growth and progress of the country. Stressing on the need for Congress workers to educate the public on the implementation of the party’s ‘Five Pre-poll guarantees,’ he said that the Campaign must be launched from Mysuru itself.

Maintaining that the entire State has welcomed the Congress Party’s five poll promises, he said that the contribution of Congress leaders like Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Nijalingappa and D. DevarajUrs still remains etched in the minds of the people.

Animal Husbandry Minister and Periyapatna MLA K. Venkatesh was felicitated on the occasion.
