BLACK BEAUTY: Here is a series of photographs of a black leopard captured by tourists who went for a safari at Nagarahole (Kabini Backwaters) yesterday. The leopard was first spotted perching on a tree at around 4.30 pm. It later climbed down and landed on the safari route giving a perfect photo opportunity for shutterbugs. It stayed on the road for some time and repeatedly stared at the tourists who were sporting an awe-inspiring look on their faces. Forest Department officials told Star of Mysore that the black leopard is about five to six-years-old and has been living in the Kabini Backwaters territory since 2014. Officials added that this particular leopard has four female partners spread across its territory. The feline, unlike other leopards that are shy and elusive, often gives a glimpse to the tourists who flock the Nagarahole National Park. Remember the ever-bold Prince of Bandipur?
