Blaring horns: Traffic Cops take action against 54 KSRTC buses

Mysuru:  Devaraja Traffic Police and the officials of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), in a joint operation on Jan.21, have taken action against 54 KSRTC buses (both city and rural buses) for creating sound pollution through blaring horns above the permitted limits and have taken action against them under Section 115 of the Indian Motor Vehicle Act besides                                               sending the report to KSRTC authorities.

Though the permitted limit should be between 50 and 80 decibels, the horns of these 54 KSRTC buses were creating sound above 80 decibels and hence action was taken.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe supervised Devaraja Traffic Inspector L. Srinivas and  KSPCB – Mysuru Unit Field Assistant Shivanna.
