Body found in drain at Hootagalli

Mysore/Mysuru: A decomposed body of a man has been found in a drain at Hootagalli in city yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Gowda (32), a resident of Somanahalli village, Bilikere Hobli in Hunsur taluk.

Following stench emanating from the drain, public informed the Vijayanagar Police, who reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigation during which they came to know the identity of the deceased man.

As the body was decomposed, the identity could not be established initially. The deceased had the name ‘Ratishgowda’ and names of two Kannada film actors tattooed on his hand following which the deceased was identified in the evening.

Vijayanagar Police told SOM that Sanjay Gowda may have consumed liquor and fell into the drain and died.

Post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
