May 24, 2017

Switzerland: Hollywood Actor Roger Moore, who won international fame playing British secret agent James Bond, died of cancer yesterday. He was 89.

His 12 years as Bond made Moore a millionaire and a heartthrob the world over. “It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer,” his three children announced in a statement on the Twitter account.

Moore, who replaced Sean Connery as 007, was the third actor to take on the role. He starred in seven Bond movies titled: Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View to a Kill (1985).
