Book on Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar released

 Yaduveer KC Wadiyar seen releasing the book titled ‘Nadu Kattida Nalwadige Namana’ at a programme organised by Karnataka Sena Pade at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall here this morning. Others seen are litterateur Prof. C.P. Krishnakumar, Karnataka Sena Pade President Cha. Ram. Srinivas Gowda, Mysuru District Brahmana Sabha President D.T. Prakash, Dr. M.G.R. Urs of Chutuku Sahitya Parishat, Nominated Corporator N. Dhruvaraj, ZP President Nayeema Sultana and Sena Pade District President Tejesh Lokesh Gowda.

Mysuru: Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar released a book on Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar titled ‘Nadu Kattida Nalwadige Namana’ at a programme organised by Karnataka Sena Pade at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall here this morning.

The book, published by Karnataka Sena Pade, is a compilation of articles on the erstwhile Mysore ruler, by 21 personalities such as veteran litterateur Prof. C.P. Krishnakumar, UoM Acting VC Prof. C. Basavaraju, Prof. C. Naganna, Prof. P.V. Nanjaraje Urs, Dr. Malali Vasanth Kumar, Prof. Shelvapillai Iyengar, Prof. M. Susheela Urs and Bannur Raju.

Speaking after releasing the book, Yaduveer said that he had learnt a lot about the contributions of Nalwadi to the overall development of the State which included setting up of eminent academic institutions and construction of dams.

Pointing out that Nalwadi never deviated from the ‘Dharma Marga’ that he followed throughout his life, despite problems in his private life, Yaduveer recalled that under Nalwadi, Mysore Kingdom stood at fourth place in the world in health care, which was acclaimed even by advanced countries.

Noting that Nalwadi always stood for honesty and discipline in public life, he said that Nalwadi’s work inspired many rulers and political leaders.

Rename city Rly. Station after Nalwadi

Karnataka Sena Pade President Cha. Ram. Srinivas Gowda, in his address, urged the Government to include exclusive chapters on Nalwadi in school text books and to name the city Railway Station after Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.

Mayor B. Bhagyavathi, Chamundi Hill temple Chief Priest Sashishekar Dikshit, Social workers K. Raghuram and others  attended the book release function.
