Mysuru: District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa released ‘Talakadina Ratnagalu,’ a book authorised by writer T.N. Dasegowda at a programme jointly organised by Vokkaligara Kshamabhivruddhi Sangha, Mysuru and Venkatagiri Prakashana, Mysuru, at Town Hall here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahadevappa said that Talakad in T. Narasipur taluk is a historical place. Pointing out that Talakad assumed historical significance during the rule of Ganga Kings, he said that the book has identified 55 personalities and achievers who had close association with Talakad.

The Minister further said that the book explains the reminiscences of Talakad’s history in a lucid manner. Talakad Attikeri Mutt Seer Dr. Mallikarjuna Swamiji graced the occasion.

Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Marithibbegowda, leader Sunil Bose, veteran writer Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar, former District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President N. Girigowda, Sangha President T.R. Krishnegowda, the book author T.N. Dasegowda, Congress leader Sunil Bose and others were present.
