Boy ends life after parents ask him to switch off TV

Virajpet: A 13-year-old boy, who got depressed after his parents asked him to switch off the TV, reportedly committed suicide by hanging self in Virajpet Rural Police limits.

The deceased boy is Nithin, son of Sibi, an estate worker and residing in labourers’ quarters of B. Beemaiah at Kadanga Marur village near Virajpet. The boy was studying in 7th standard at the Government Primary School in Kadanga Marur village.

On Dec. 31 night, Nithin, the only son of Sibi, was watching TV late night, when his parents asked him to switch off the TV and go to sleep. After his parents slept, Nithin is said to have hanged himself, it is learnt.

Based on the complaint by Sibi, Virajpet Rural Police, who registered a case, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to Virajpet General Hospital, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
