Mysuru: In a shocking incident, a boy and a minor girl ended their lives by consuming poison near KRS yesterday.
While the boy has been identified as Shivu, the minor girl is said to be from H.D. Kote.
Shivu and the girl were said to be in love for the past few months and placed a proposal before their parents for marriage.
But their parents are said to have rejected the proposal saying that they were under-aged and also they cannot get married as they were blood relatives.
Disappointed over the rejection of their marriage proposal, the duo are said to have consumed poison at a farmland along the canal close to Anjaneya Temple at Chikka Ayarahalli near KRS yesterday afternoon.
While Shivu died, the girl who was writhing in pain reportedly called her parents and narrated the incident.
Her relatives who rushed to the spot, took her to K.R. Hospital from where she was being shifted to a private hospital, when she died en-route, it is learnt.
Her body was taken to her village without informing the Police. But the Police, after coming to know about the incident, counselled her parents on the legal procedures involved and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem.
KRS Police, who registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
