Brahmana Dharma Sahaya Sabha Centenary Celebrations tomorrow

Mysuru: The Centenary Celebrations of Brahmana Dharma Sahaya Sabha on Thyagaraj Road will be held at the Platinum Jubilee auditorium of Mysore Medical College at J.K. Grounds on Jan.28 at 10.30 am.

Addressing a press conference at the Patrakarthara Bhavan here recently, Sabha President N. Srinivas said that the Brahmana Dharma Sahaya Sabha was established under the leadership of Vidwan Nanjangud Srikanta Shastry in 1918.

It is completing 100 seasons and had stalwarts like M. Venkatakrishnaiah (Thathaiah), Agaram Rangaiah, Rao Bahadur Ramaswamy, V. Lakshminarayan Rao, M.T. Ramaswamy, K. Seshadri, Ambale Annaiah Pandit, H.T. Narasimhamurthy, S. Krishnamurthy and M.L. Padmanabh Jois as Presidents. M. Manjunath is President since the last 14 years, he added.

The celebrations will be inaugurated on that day in the presence of Haripura’s Adishankaracharya Sharada Lakshminarasimha Peetha Sankaracharya Seer Swayamprakash Sachhidananda Saraswathi Swamiji.

Dr. B. Bhimeshwar Joshi will unveil the statue of the founder Vidwan Nanjangud Srikanta Shastry. Former Supreme Court Chief Justice M. N. Venkatachalaiah will release a souvenir ‘Brahmi.’

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar will unveil the Centenary plaque. Union Minister Ananth Kumar will release the CD on the Sabha’s march towards the Century.

Sringeri Sharada Peetha CEO Dr. V. R. Gowrishankar and Civil Engineer R. Sundaramurthy will be felicitated.  A hi-tech hearse van with required facilities purchased with the help of H.V. Rajeev Sneha Balaga that has donated over Rs. nine lakh will be presented to the Sabha.
