To-be-bride dies of suspected dengue

Mandya: A 22-year-old girl, whose engagement was held about 15 days back, succumbed to suspected dengue fever at a hospital in Bengaluru yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Rekha (22), daughter of Chowdegowda and Doddathayamma couple and residents of Bidarahosahalli village in Mandya.

Rekha, who was suffering from fever since about five days, was being treated at Shilpa Nursing Home in Mandya and was shifted to BGS Hospital in Bengaluru two days ago, where she passed away yesterday after failing to respond to the treatment.

Her body was brought to her native place for the conduct of her last rites, according to family sources.
