Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars broke into the guest house of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) and took away gold ornaments worth Rs. 4.36 lakh. The incident occurred on May 31.
Dr. G. Rajeshwari, a doctor at AIISH, was living in the guest house and on May 31, she locked the guest house to leave for Bengaluru. When she came back on June 2, she found the main door of the residential facility ajar and when she checked, she realised that the guest house has been burgled.
The thieves had taken away a 25-gram gold chain, four bangles weighing 20 grams, one bracelet that weighed 10 grams, one 5-gram pendant, two 5-gram earrings, one 5-gram ear stud, an ear stud with rubies weighing 5 grams, a ring weighing 5 grams and silver articles weighing 250 grams. The total estimate of the valuables is Rs. 4.36 lakh.
In her complaint to Jayalakshmipuram Police Station, Dr. Rajeshwari stated that her sister Devika was aware of more jewels kept in the guest house and that the details would be available only after she arrived from Bengaluru. A case has been booked at Jayalakshmipuram Police Station and investigations are on.
