Burglars break into locked house, decamp with gold

Mysuru: Burglars, who broke into a locked house at Vijayanagar 2nd stage, have decamped with gold ornaments worth about Rs. 1.65 lakh kept in the house.

The burglary took place in the house of V. Raman, located on the 7th Cross in Vijayanagar 2nd stage here.

Raman, who had to go to Bengaluru to attend a programme on Aug. 6 (Sunday), locked the house and left for Bengaluru along with his family after informing his friend Manjunath, to take care of the house till he returns.

But on Wednesday, when Manjunath went to the house to water the plants, he found the front door broken and immediately informed Raman over the phone.

Raman, who rushed back to Mysuru, inspected the house and found the gold ornaments kept in the wardrobe missing.

Vijayanagar Inspector and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and are investigating.
