October 8, 2020

Dry leaves fallen from trees on Lalithadri Road 1st Cross in Kuvempunagar are being collected, dumped at a tree and is set on fire. This is not only spoiling the environment but is also destroying the healthy tree. When a resident confronted the person lighting the fire and questioned him, the person is said to have told that he had seen a snake and hence, he was lighting the fire to scare the reptile away. The residents have urged the authorities concerned to take steps to get the road cleared of fallen dry leaves on alternate days and prevent such persons from causing environmental hazard.
