Burning of toxic waste poses danger to residents

March 9, 2024

Sir,

The daily burning of toxic waste, particularly at night around 10 pm, on High Tension Double Road (near Vijayanagar Water Tank) is significantly impacting the health of the residents in the area.

We request the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities concerned to investigate this matter promptly and take necessary action to stop this hazardous practice.

Furthermore, it is crucial to address similar issues occurring elsewhere in the city also to ensure the overall well-being of the residents, especially small kids and elder citizens, some of them with asthma problems.

Since the term of the elected body of the City Corporation has ended some months back, the immediate intervention of the MCC Commissioner or the officials concerned is essential to mitigate the health risks posed by such burning activities.

– Dr. Srihari, Vijayanagar, 29.2.2024
