Bengaluru: The by-poll to the lone vacant Legislative Council seat will be held on Feb.17.

The seat had fallen vacant due to the election of Congress member Rizwan Arshad to the Legislative Assembly from Shivajinagar Assembly segment, in the by-polls held on Dec.5 last.

The by-poll notification will be issued on Jan. 30, following which the filing of nominations will begin the same day. The last date for filing of nominations is Feb.6 and for withdrawal is Feb.10. The polling will take place between 9 am and 4 pm on Feb.17, following which the counting of votes will be taken up and the result declared the same day, according to sources.
