Mysuru: Jnanodaya PU College, Saraswathipuram, celebrated Sanskrit Day recently.
Sanskrit Vidwan Vigneshwar Bhat, Assistant Professor at Mata Amritanandamayi College, who was the chief guest, gave away prizes to the winners of Bagavadgita, Sanskrit Essay and other competitions.
Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised that the Sanskrit fever was gripping many foreign countries for its culture and philosophical ideas. He encouraged youngsters of today to imbibe the Sanskrit culture because of it close relationship with Science.
T.S. Srikanta Sharma, Principal of Jnanodaya PU College, presided. On the dais were Dr. C. R. Nagendran and Padma Ravi, Vice-Principal of Jnanodaya PU College.
S.U. Adarsh of I PU renderd the Veda Gosham. M.R. Kannan of II PU anchored the programme. Shravya, Prerana, and Pramashree, all II PU students, rendered the invocation. Chandrachood Bharadwaj of II PU welcomed. Shravya of II PU introduced the chief guest. Sudhanva of II PU proposed a vote of thanks.
